Gordon Etzler & Associates, LLP was founded in 2004 by Attorney Gordon A. Etzler. At that point in his career, Gordon wished to start his own practice even though he would be leaving behind his partnership and more than thirty (30) years of service with Hoeppner, Wagner, & Evans, LLP. However, he felt he did not want to transfer his practice to Merrillville but remain a Porter County attorney.

Perhaps among America’s most accomplished lawyers, Abraham Lincoln was famous for saying, “Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can. Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser — in fees, expenses, and waste of time. As a peacemaker the lawyer has a superior opportunity of being a good man. There will still be business enough.” Abraham Lincoln, July 1, 1850.

Gordon Etzler & Associates, LLP has embraced this philosophy. Attorney Etzler located his practice in an old, historical Valparaiso home, constructed in 1910. It has a warm, welcoming appeal, and clients instantly feel comfortable in our homelike setting. Just like Mr. Lincoln’s practice, we focus on solving our clients’ problems in the most efficient manner possible.

Here at Gordon Etzler & Associates, LLP we pride ourselves on Mr. Lincoln’s philosophy as well. We think outside the box to find creative, efficient solutions for our clients. Time has proven that there will indeed be business enough, and we have found that in our honest and diligent application of the laws, we can truly provide the quality representation that our clients deserve and that the noble calling of the profession requires.
