Gordon Etzler & Associates, LLP Seeking Paralegal/Office Manager

After 5 years of faithful service, Gordon Etzler & Associates, LLP will regretfully be losing an extremely competent, motivated, and dedicated employee as of March 1, 2013. We are seeking a candidate who can replace her as a full-time paralegal and office manager.

Her current duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting attorneys in the areas of civil litigation, administrative law, taxation, contracts, business formation, real estate, and appeals;
  • Maintaining and keeping records regarding billing and basic accounting;
  • Drafting and preparing routine correspondence, basic motions and orders, various discovery and legal documents;
  • Basic legal research and citations;
  • Manage various deadlines and calendars for the attorneys;
  • Compiling and organizing supporting documentation and pretrial preparation;
  • Organizing client files; and
  • Managing, disseminating, and organizing office mail;
  • General bookkeeping;

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Typing speed (at least 70-80wpm);
  • Multitasking;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Basic legal research skills & basic understanding of legal terminology;
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced work environment;
  • Extreme professionalism and exceptional customer service skills;
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills, e.g. spelling, grammar, etc.;
  • Proactive problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Strong organization skills; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
